Overview

A massage therapist brings the benefits of massage to your home, office, or event space. They have a portable equipment and supplies that allow them to deliver a professional massage in your home or facility of your choice. This is a terrific solution for loved ones with mobility issues, as they can be gain benefits without needing to be moved.

Benefits

• No movement required: People immobilized by medical conditions or disability may benefit from massage but are unable to reach a healer. Using mobile massage, those benefits can be arranged for a non-mobile loved one.
• Convenience: The therapist comes to you. No driving, traffic, parking, etc.
• Deeper relaxation: You may just roll off the table straight into bed and soak in the experience
• Potential for group experience: Bringing one or several massage therapists to an event can help multiple people to relax and be in a good mood

Equipment options

• None: The massage therapist comes to your desired location without a portable table or massage chair. The massage may be performed on a flat firm surface such as the floor or a mat.
• Massage chair: The massage therapist will bring a massage chair to your desired location and be able to perform a seated, clothed chair massage, working on back, shoulders, and arms. This is often the most acceptable form of massage for any public location.
• Portable massage table: The massage therapist brings a massage table and linens to your desired location and performs the massage at that location. You will need a space at least 10ft x 7ft to allow the therapist sufficient space to work.

Potential issues:

• Parking: Does the therapist know where to park if parking is an issue? Especially if they’re carrying equipment, this can pose problems. Ensure you have ample parking, a visitors space, or your own space available.
• Strangers in your home: Do you know who’s coming to your door? Do you have assurance that they are a legitimate therapist? (reviews and trusted referrals can help), as can meeting them initially in a public location or their studio. Please take reasonable precautions when you invite anyone into your home.
• Travel costs: Some therapists charge fees to come to your location. Make sure you’ve verified these up front
