Overview

One room contains several to many massage tables. Partitions or curtains may separate the space where multiple people may be massaged simultaneously.

Benefits

• Education: A group facility may include a college or other teaching facility, where students improve their techniques and abilities
• Price: Group settings are often much cheaper than facilities with individual studios

Equipment options

• Mats: Padded mats may be used to perform massage. This is especially true in certain types of massage, like Thai Yoga massage that utilize a wide range of movement and some stretching
• Massage chair: A seated massage chair is available for massage including the back, shoulder, and arm. This is usually performed fully clothed
• Massage table: A massage table allows for a prone massage, which may be performed clothed or undressed while covered with draping.

Potential issues:

• Privacy: A group setting may or may not have full-height barriers, so privacy may be limited
• Sound: A group setting will not have walls or an independent sound system. Noise, voices, and/or music from other parts of the room may be present.
• Space: A group setting often has less individual space than a separate room
